Division 2 Title Goes to Vanguard Wednesday, September 2nd , 2048 For the 5th time in franchise history, the Santa Clara Vanguard are champions of the Division 2. It was all triumphant shouts and high-fives in the Santa Clara clubhouse when the clinch became official, with much optimism about the club's chances in the playoffs. "From the start of spring training this is where you envision yourself being," said right fielder Brian Matthews. "Playing for a chance to win the Round 3 is what it's all about and we think we're going to get it done." The club currently has a 72-61 and will be looking to capture the 1st Round 3 championship in franchise history. |
