Key West Wins Top Spot in Division 1 Thursday, September 10th , 2048 The Key West Lime Pies celebrated their Division 1 championship tonight, but relief was more readily visible than jubilation for the players. "The whole season is such a long battle, so to take the division in the final day is really remarkable," said starting pitcher Fidel Nunez. "It honestly just feels like a huge weight is off all our shoulders. Now we can relax and focus on the playoffs." But of course, the playoffs won't be without a fair bit of stress and anxiety too. But team manager Paul Stevens said his team is good under pressure and will rise to the occasion. "These guys are battle tested," he said. This was the 5th Division 1 title in team history. |
