Great Lakes-Traverse City Brawl, Ortega and Hummel Suspended Monday, May 4th , 2048 Girard Ortega of the Great Lakes Loons and Griffin Hummel of the Traverse City Cherries will be on the sidelines for a few days. They have been suspended for 4 and 8 games respectively by the league office for causing the bench-emptying free-for-all at the recent Loons-Cherries game at Cherries Ballpark. Neither player had any comment about the suspensions. Both clubs told BNN Ortega and Hummel will begin serving them soon. Ortega is hitting .304 this year with no home runs and 1 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .385, 5 walks and scored 1 times. |
