Nicol van den Berg Lost for Season Sunday, June 26th , 2050 The season is finished for Nicol van den Berg of the Da Nang Dolphins. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Dolphins closer suffered bone chips in his elbow while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Lincolnville Abes. Team doctors said it would take at least 6-7 months to heal. To this point in the year van den Berg has put up a 0-1 won-lost mark, made 26 relief appearances and rung up 16 saves. He has a 4.18 ERA and has allowed 27 hits over his 23.2 innings of work, struck out 17 batters and walked 6. |
