Houston Halts Afrosimov's Hitting Steak Tuesday, July 5th , 2050 Moscow center fielder Kolenka Afrosimov knew his hitting streak would end sooner or later. He just would have preferred later. Afrosimov went 0-for-3 in the 6-3 Mules victory over the Houston Orange Kings, snapping his 24-game hit streak. "Heck yeah I'm disappointed it's over," he said later. "My financial advisor is disappointed too. When you're riding a streak like that, everybody wants a piece of you. Nobody wants the guy who went 0-for-3." For the season, Afrosimov has produced 87 hits in 266 at-bats for a .327 average with 4 home runs and gotten on base at a .396 clip. |
