Vespa Cracks 5 Hits Tuesday, July 23rd , 2047 It was a sensational day at the plate for Brian Vespa as he led the charge to a nifty 9-5 win over the Better Mades. The Rhome second baseman was pure misery for the Grosse Pointe pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Vespa put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Gary McGraw, manager for the Better Mades, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Brian Vespa singled in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Carlos Almendarez in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 10th.
