Rhome Stops Gutierrez Hit Streak Wednesday, July 5th , 2051 The streak has been snapped. Wil Gutierrez failed to get a hit in today's game against the Rhome Rhavioli, bringing his 21-game hitting spree to an end. The 18-year-old Oklahoma City shortstop was 0-for-1, but the Hooks got the win and defeated the Rhavioli, 11-4. "I'm not disappointed at all -- I had a great run," Gutierrez said. "I got to 21 games. I got my name into an elite group with a bunch of good ballplayers. What's there to complain about?" This season, Gutierrez has hit 4 home runs and posted a .367 batting average. |
